Jersey Concours d’Elegance 2026: A Day for the Whole Island
On Saturday 13 June 2026, Jersey Concours d’Elegance returns to People’s Park, St Helier, for a free public afternoon celebrating remarkable vehicles, Island history and the stories behind the machines.
Taking place from 12 noon to 4pm, the event is open to everyone. While the Concours naturally attracts collectors, owners and motoring enthusiasts, it is just as much an invitation to families, visitors and Islanders who simply enjoy design, craftsmanship and a well-kept piece of history. No specialist knowledge is required. Curiosity is quite enough.
The 2026 event carries particular significance, marking 75 years since Jersey’s first Concours was held along Victoria Avenue on 30 August 1951. That original gathering quickly captured the public imagination, drawing thousands of spectators and placing beautifully presented cars at the heart of Island life. Seventy-five years later, the modern Concours continues that tradition, bringing together engineering, memory, pride and community on the grass at People’s Park.
This year’s field will offer a broad and carefully curated view of motoring heritage. Visitors can expect beautifully preserved vintage and classic cars, rare historic motorcycles and admired modern performance cars, each selected for its presentation, provenance and character. The pleasure of the Concours lies not only in the vehicles themselves, but in their variety. A pre-war car may sit near a post-war classic, a familiar Island favourite beside a rare supercar, and a historic motorcycle beside a machine from a very different era of design.
Among the cars entered for 2026 are names that will appeal to many generations: Vauxhall 30/98, Land Rover Series 1, Austin 7 Swallow Sports, Aston Martin DB5 Goldfinger Continuation, Ferrari 246 Dino, AC Cobra, VW Split Screen, Volvo P1800, Mercedes SL280 Pagoda, Lamborghini Countach, Lotus Esprit S1, Ferrari Daytona, Ford GT40, Bugatti Veyron Super Sport and Aston Martin Valhalla. Together, they help tell a story that moves from early motoring elegance to contemporary performance.
Historic motorcycles will also form an important part of the day. They bring their own language of engineering: exposed mechanics, purposeful design, sound, balance and individuality. For many visitors, these machines will prompt memories of family journeys, parish roads, first rides and the particular pleasure of seeing something carefully preserved still able to speak to the present.
A further highlight for 2026 will be the presence of London-based international contemporary artist Metin Salih, who will paint live at the Concours. Metin will create an original 1/1 oil-on-canvas artwork inspired by one of the exceptional motor cars on display. Visitors will be able to watch the artistic process unfold during the afternoon, seeing how proportion, light, movement and character are translated from machine to canvas. A further original work, based on one of the confirmed exhibits, will also be unveiled at the event.
His appearance adds a thoughtful new dimension to the Concours. Cars and motorcycles have always inspired artists, designers and makers. Their lines, materials and presence carry the decisions of those who conceived, built, maintained and preserved them. By bringing live painting into the setting of People’s Park, the 2026 Concours places art and engineering side by side.
Families are warmly encouraged to attend. The event offers children and younger visitors the chance to see rare and historic vehicles at close quarters, ask questions, take photographs and discover why these machines continue to matter. For older generations, it may be an opportunity to revisit memories. For others, it may simply be a beautiful afternoon in St Helier, surrounded by design, craftsmanship and community.
